    As I recall from late 1950s, it was an abandoned structure. It was well maintained by Govt authorities though. Of course visitors/ 'school children on school trip' used to visit for sightseeing. Lots of bats had made it their home. Can't avoid that as this and other Moughal era structures (Begampur etc) were basically stone structures that had door and window openings but no doors/ windows. Khirkee village was famous for Sugarcane fields. On a trip to Khirkee/ Khirkee Mosque, often you saw Peacocks.
